last night i want to mary's peak for sunset. it was amazing. wilamette valley to the east and endless expanse to the west, costal range to the north and south. i coulnd't actually see the ocean. there was a layer of clouds meshing with mounains and stretching off into infinity over the sea. it was like when you are flying in an airplane above the clouds, but instead of being couped up in a long tube looking out a hazy little window, you are on top of a mountain with endless open space and grass and trees wild flowers and radio towers. it was amazing.

then on the way back, i saw lighting. it was pretty far off, but it was still very cool, especially because there isn't much of that here in oregon. it was like iowa, but with moutnains.
